DIY: An alternative to wet wipes

DIY: An alternative to wet wipes

How to sew reusable washcloths for cleaning your baby's bottom? How to prepare homemade baby wash?

The Pupus store offers reusable washcloths made of bamboo terry cloth. The washcloths are comfortable, soft, and perfect for cleaning your baby's delicate skin when changing diapers.
Reusable washcloths can be purchased in stores. You can also sew them yourself. It's very easy, all you need is the desire to do it. The rest will follow.

How to sew reusable washcloths for cleaning a baby's bottom?
I like eco-friendly things, so in the spirit of zero waste, I encourage you to sew washcloths from materials you have at home. Soft and absorbent fabrics work great. In our case, we used flannel, or more specifically, an “old,” unused flannel sheet.
I washed and ironed the fabric and folded it into quarters. I cut along the fold lines. Then each quarter was folded again, ironed, and cut along the fold lines. Each quarter yielded 6 washcloths, for a total of 24.
Then it's simple (albeit a bit laborious). Each piece of fabric should be hemmed with a zigzag stitch on a sewing machine (to prevent fraying during use, washing, etc.). And that's it. The reusable washcloths are ready.

How to prepare homemade baby wash?
I use regular lukewarm boiled water for everyday diaper changes. It's perfectly sufficient.
However, the wash will also contain ingredients that soothe irritation and nourish the skin, which is undoubtedly a huge advantage. What's more, the wash can be poured into a spray bottle, packed in a diaper bag, and used outside the home. That's why it's worth making your own.
